Quincy Masters Swimming

QMS is a new Masters Team in Adams County. We practice, host meets, and offer a great way for older swimmers to stay in shape, train for triathlons, or just connect with the water.

Practice Times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Meet Facility:

6-lane, 25-yard pool on the campus of Quincy University, in the Health and Fitness Center.
Parking available in B Lot on campus.
The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.
Daktronics Timing system will be primary time, watches for back-up times
Warm-ups / cool down will be available at designated breaks after Event 7 and Event 14.
Times from this meet will be eligible for USMS Top ten and USMS records.

RULES: Current USMS technical rules will apply unless otherwise noted in this meet information.

DISABILITY: Swimmers with hearing or sight concerns should confer with the starter/referee prior to their events in order that assistance may be provided. Swimmers with physical disabilities may assume a starting position prior to other participants in a heat.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: The meet and meet host will adhere to the policies and procedures provided by the local health department.

ENTRY PROCESS:

Entries will be through Club Assistant.
The entry fee for previously registered USMS members is $30
Deck entry fee and fee for non-USMS swimmers will be $45.

INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES:

This meet will be limited to six individual entries.
A swimmer’s age group is determined by that swimmer’s age on the last day of the meet, January 26, 2025. Age groups to be contested are as follows: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, and 100+.
There are no qualifying time standards for this meet. A swimmer should enter his/her best achieved time for each event entered. An entry time of “NO TIME” will be accepted

SEEDING: All events will be seeded by time. They will be scored by age group.

WARM-UP TIMES:
Warm-up time 9:00 AM Meet 10:00 AM

RESULTS:
Final results will be emailed and posted in printable form on the website, https://lmraquatics.wixsite.com/lmr-aquatics/quincy-masters-swimming

Registration will open September 1, 2024 at 9:00 AM and close Friday, January 24, 2025 at 9:00 PM.

Session 1:

Warm up at 9:00 AM - Start at 10:00 AM
The 500 Freestyle will be limited to 18 swimmers.
Positive check-in for the 500 Freestyle will close at 9:30 AM.
The 400 Individual Medley will be limited to 18 swimmers.
Positive check-in for the 400 Individual Medley will close at 10:00 AM.

Deck Entry will close at 9:30 am.

USMS renewals will not be permitted on deck.

Meet Course: 25 Yards

Warm-ups start at 9:00 AM

Meet starts at 10:00 AM

Meet is estimated to end at 1:00 PM

Results will be scored by gender and age group.

All relays will be men’s, women’s or exactly 2 men 2 women.
